Wilder Park in Downtown Aurora, IL
Help Support A Cause That's 2nd 2 None . . .
Adequate nutrition is extremely important to every school-aged child's ability to
develop properly, stay healthy, and learn well in school.
More than 19,000 children in Aurora schools are eligible for free and reduced-price lunch during the school year.
In the summer, however, this food is not available and these children are at risk of hunger
and its negative consequences, inluding delayed development, poor health, behavioral problems,
and inability to concentrate on learning tasks.
The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Communities In Schools (CIS) have initiated the
Food for Thought program to provide food to Aurora area children at risk of hunger over the summer.
The 2nd 2 None 5K Run & Walk raises funds to distribute food through weekly Mobile Food Pantries
to low income children attending the City of Aurora/CIS summer camp.
Step- off at 8 am from Wilder Park in Downtown Aurora, run along the streets of historic Downtown Aurora
and be among the first to race through Aurora's beautiful, new RiverEdge Park.
Runners compete by gender and age group. First, Second and Third place medals are awarded for each category. Challenge categories are available for corporate and school district teams.
Each participant gets a Dri-Fit race shirt and a 'goodie' bag, with coupons from local vendors.
Join the 2nd 2 None 5K Run & Walk - a chance to exercise and enjoy the event.
Walk, run or just cheer on the athletes. Everyone has fun!
