Help Support A Cause That's 2nd 2 None . . .
THE CAUSE
Good adequate nutrition is extremely important to every school-aged child's ability to develop properly, stay healthy and learn well in school. Many children are eligible for free and reduced-price breakfast and lunches during the school year. But, in the summer these programs are not available and children are at risk of inadequate nourishment. The Aurora Area Interfaith Food Pantry and Communities In Schools have initiated the Food for Thought program to help Aurora area children at risk of hunger to receive the food they need over the summer to help them grow stronger and function well.
THE RUN
The "Second to None 5K Run/Walk" will raise funds to support the on-going costs of the Food for Thought program. Runners compete in different gender and age groups. There are challenge categories for corporate and school district teams. Plaques and medals will be awarded in multiple categories. Each participant gets an event t-shirt and a 'goodie' bag.
Come out to Phillips Park to exercise and enjoy the event. Walk, run or just cheer on the athletes. Everyone has fun!
THE SUPPORT
Several levels of corporate sponsorship are available for the race. Your business can get great exposure with a variety of marketing opportunities. In addition, sponsors will have the satisfaction of knowing they have helped to ensure that our students don't go hungry this summer.
